Senna, or Senna Alexandrina, is also known as True Senna, Indian Senna, Senna cassia, Alexandrian Senna, and Senna angustifolia.

Senna is a small, scrubby plant, and its 400 species mostly grow in the deserts of North Africa and on the Indian subcontinent. Various parts of the senna plant have been used for thousands of years.
