Chile Peppers, or Capsicum annuum, is also known as Cayenne, Thai Chile, Chile Japones, Red Chile, Santaka, Hot Pepper, Chili Pepper, Chiles, Chilies, and Chillies.

Chiles, the fruit of plants from the genus Capsicum, are members of the nightshade family, Solanaceae.

These dried chiles register at 37,000 H.U., which is pretty hot (quite a bit hotter than the jalapeno)! When handling hot peppers, wear gloves, and avoid touching your eyes or any mucous membranes (Ouch!). If you do burn yourself, rinse with super hot water, and then coat with sour cream or yogurt (personal experience).
