Elder Flowers, or Sambucus Nigra, is also known as American Elder, Common Elder, Black Elder, Bour Tree, and European Black Elder.

European elder is a plant native to Europe, Northern Africa, and Western-and Central Asia.

The word 'Elder' comes from the Anglo-Saxon word aeld. ̠ld meant 'fire,' as the hollow stems of the young branches were used for blowing on a fire.
