Angelica Root, or Angelica Archangelica, is also known as Garden Angelica, Great Angelica, and Wild Parsnip.
Angelica is a flowering plant and is related to carrots, dill, and fennel. Its growing area is vast, thriving as far north as Lapland and as far south as South Carolina.
The roots of the Common Angelica are long and spindle-shaped, sometimes weighing as much as three pounds, and are covered with many long, descending rootlets.
